Notorious and the Mission's Trip

Josh left on his third missions trip yesterday. Two years ago he went to San Francisco, last year he went to Jamaica (yes, it truly was a Mission's trip) and this year he is in West Virginia. The Youth Group will encounter some of the poorest people in America living in the Appalachian Mountain Region.

Yesterday during Service, the Youth Group was being commissioned and Michael made a comment about Josh's glasses. He was wearing his "Notorious" glasses, he's a character. There is no particiular meaning behind the word. He just wanted something unique written on them.

He is soooo much fun to be around and truly is the life of the party. When he walks into a room, you know he is there, not in a bad way, in a positive way. He is always smiling and has a way of making everyone around him feel good. He is comfortable with every age group...young, old and in between. He will be missed at the Laurence home this week. It is my opinion that our loss is their gain. We'll see if they feel the same way when they return next Sunday:)
I must admit that when I found out that he was in the van with Marc O. and Marc C., as drivers, I told them I would be praying more for them. Josh is either 100% on or 100% off. If he's on and they experience anything like the dinners at our house...they are in for a treat. If he's off and sleeping, good luck waking him up...I think he could sleep through a tornado:)

I truly hope and pray that everyone on the trip experiences God in a way they never have before and that their faith will be strengthened. I pray they will build community amongst themselves and the people whom they will encounter in West Virginia. I can't wait to hear about the trip from everyone on August 9th (Youth Mission's Sunday).
